Banggai Island

The Banggai Islands lie off the eastern tip of Central Sulawesi. This archipelago, situated at the entrance to the Tolo Gulf, consists of two major islands, Peleng and Banggai, surrounded by approximately 100 smaller islets. While Indonesia is famously part of the Pacific Ring of Fire—with much of its volcanic activity concentrated along the Sunda Arc—the Banggai Archipelago offers a different kind of wonder, defined by its incredible marine biodiversity.
